The RedHawks look to the guidance of new head coach Mike Haywood to rebound from a 2-10 season on the gridiron. Haywood brings an experienced and accomplished coaching staff with him that hopes to reform Miami's gridders back into the class of the Mid-American Conference. His first priority in 2009: establish a culture of discipline.
2-Hockey: Young RedHawks skate down final stretch
After a 10-2-2-1 start to the CCHA season, a five game skid now perches the 'Hawks seven points out of first place. With two freshmen between the pipes and a young defense in front of them, Blasi's boys must learn to over come adversity as they make a late season push.
3-Women's basketball: Miami defends conference championship
Fresh off their first NCAA tournament appearance in school history, the RedHawks look to get back to the big dance with another MAC title. All-time Miami point leader Amanda Jackson is gone, however, so the 'Hawks must look elsewhere for offensive production.
4-Men's basketball: 'Hawks compete for wide-open MAC title without Hayes
With pre-season favorite Kent State off to a 1-2 start in MAC play, the conference is now up for grabs. At 2-1, Miami sits in a three-way tie for first in the eastern division, but must overcome the loss of senior starting point guard Kenny Hayes.
5-Skating: MU looks to five-peat
Miami's synchronized skating team has won four in a row-four national championships, that is. Can the RedHawks continue their dynasty in 2009 and bring home the hardware for the ninth time in 11 years?
6-Women's cross country: New coach builds off of first-year MAC championship

In her first year at the helm of the 'Hawks, Rita Ardnt Molis lead Miami to a conference title. The natural question that follows is how high can she take her team in 2009? With former individual MAC champion Laura Neufarth returning for her senior season, the sky is the limit.
7-Women's swimming: RedHawks rank as top mid-major team
After losing the season's opening meet, Miami is currently on a seven meet win streak- and that doesn't even include its Miami Invitational victory in which they competed against eight other teams. Only three meets remain before the 'Hawks dive after a MAC title.
8-Tennis: 'Hawks take aim at Bronco dynasty
Last season, Western Michigan ruined Miami's perfect 6-0 MAC record with a 6-1 win over the RedHawks. The win clinched the Broncos' fourth straight regular season conference title. Miami hopes 2009 can be a year of vengeance for its talented squad that has already knocked off Big Ten opponent Purdue.
9-Volleyball: Miami continues dance
A MAC championship in '07 and an at-large bid in '08 gave Miami back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances. In '09 the RedHawks look to make it three in a row as they return a promising class of juniors as senior leaders.
10-Baseball: RedHawks look to rebound on the diamond
2008 was not kind to Miami's bats and gloves. Missing the MAC tournament, the RedHawks finished 8-19 in conference play and 18-36 overall. The Red and White hope to put the past behind and return to the post-season in 2009.
