Miami is again hosting events this year to celebrate Information Security Awareness week. Events take place on the Oxford campus on Monday, October 25 in the Shriver Center Multipurpose Rooms B-C.

Susan Brenner, the NCR Distinguished Professor of Law and Technology at the University of Dayton School of Law will deliver the keynote address for this year's Information Security Awareness Week. Her presentation, "The Fourth Amendment in Cyberspace" will take place at 10:00 am. This discussion will focus on the difficult privacy and technology issues courts are currently dealing with, and is just one of many exciting events taking place.

Miami's Interim Vice President for Information Technology, Debi Allison will present opening remarks for the day at 9:00 am. Immediately following the opening, Miami's Information Security Officer, Joe Bazeley will lead a panel discussion that will include a variety of campus security and information experts, including Dr. Scott Campbell (Director of Computing Labs, Computer Science & Software Engineering), Det. Walter Schneider (Computer Forensic Examiner & Network Intrusion Response Officer, Miami University Police Department), Chris Taylor (Associate Director, Office of Ethics & Student Conflict Resolution), and Chris Wilson (Associate General Counsel).

Additional presentations and an information booth will also be showcased throughout the day. Coupons for discounted laptop locks at the Miami bookstores will be available during the various activities (while supplies last), and presentation attendees will have a chance to win a free laptop lock.
