Severe weather expected today

According to the Public Severe Weather Outlook (PWO) provided by the National Weather Service, outbreak of severe thunderstorms over parts of Ohio are expected for the remainder of today into tonight.

This could include severe thunderstorms, including strong tornadoes, widespread damaging winds, and large hail, over parts of the Ohio and middle Mississippi Valley region. Western Ohio and Indiana are included in areas most likely to experience this activity. 

A wind advisory is in effect from 10 AM this morning to midnight eastern time. 

The Oxford Police Department also advises people to not call 911 or local police about power outages or utilities; individuals should only call for true emergencies.
