For the first time this season, Miami field hockey had a perfect weekend. Friday, the team moved to 2-0 in Mid-American Conference (MAC) play with a shutout win over Longwood University. Sunday, the team fared well again and beat non-conference opponent Saint Francis 4-0.
This Sunday, when Miami field hockey squares off against No. 4 North Carolina, it will be a battle of teams who haven’t yet lived up to expectations.
After being nationally ranked to start the season, Miami University field hockey is now 2-5 after winning one of two games this weekend in Virginia. Friday, the RedHawks lost to No. 11 Virginia, 2-0, and Sunday the team shut out Richmond, winning 3-0.
After losing 1-0 to Indiana Friday, Miami field hockey captured its first win of the season Saturday, beating Rider University 3-1. The team also lost to No. 22 Ohio State on Monday.
The Miami RedHawks women’s volleyball team bounced back last weekend in the Duke Invitational.
The Miami women’s volleyball team had a tough start to its season at the Marshall Invitational, going 0-3 for the weekend. This weekend, the team will travel to Durham, North Carolina for the Duke Invitational hoping to capture its first win of the season.
Four-time reigning Mid-American Conference (MAC) champion Miami field hockey opened its 2021 regular season with a pair of losses to ranked opponents, Connecticut and Northwestern, this weekend.
The Miami RedHawks women’s volleyball team lost all three of its matches this weekend at the Marshall Invitational in Huntington, West Virginia.
NCAA field hockey returns to its normal schedule this August, after COVID-19 moved the Fall 2020 season to Spring 2021.

Going into Saturday, the Miami RedHawks needed to win two games to move on to Sunday’s regional final in Lexington, Ky. Instead, the team lost its first game against the Northwestern Wildcats, 7-1. The loss ends Miami’s historic season, which saw the team win a school-record 46 games.
The RedHawks were able to score a couple of runs in today’s NCAA Tournament game against the Fighting Irish, but they fell a run short and lost 3-2.
Miami won its first seven games of the season, sweeping Saint Louis, conference rival Ohio, and Longwood in two-game series. After the shootout loss to Louisville, the team won its final six conference games against Kent State, Appalachian State and Ball State.
The Miami RedHawks softball team travelled to Bowling Green State University this weekend for a four-game series against the Bowling Green Falcons.
Miami field hockey’s excellent season ended Friday afternoon with an opening round NCAA tournament loss to the Stanford Cardinal in Chapel Hill, N.C. It was a valiant effort for the RedHawks, who finish the season 13-2 (10-0 Mid-American Conference).
The Miami RedHawks will play No. 19 Stanford at noon Friday, April 30, in Chapel Hill, N.C. The winner of that game will go on to play top-seeded North Carolina in the second round.
Miami softball dominated this past weekend against the University of Toledo
The Miami RedHawks and the Ball State Cardinals were the only two undefeated softball teams in the Mid-American Conference (MAC). On Tuesday, they ruined each other’s perfect record.
The Miami University women’s swimming and diving team went to Ypsilanti, Mich., this weekend for the Mid-American Conference (MAC) championships. The team finished in third place out of eight teams with 436.5 points.
