Eyes are on Miami quarterback Brett Gabbert to take the next step in his development this season. He is among the players on the pre-season Maxwell Award watch list, an honor given to the most outstanding player in college football. Additionally, he was voted as the pre-season First-Team All-MAC quarterback.
Miami field hockey is set up to succeed this season. From an experienced goaltender and defense core to a game-breaking player up front, if the RedHawks see just a couple players step up to produce points, there won’t be much that can hold them back from their sixth straight MAC title.

When Sam Bachman was drafted ninth overall by the Los Angeles Angels this summer, it wasn’t clear who was going to step up as the next ace of Miami’s pitching staff that finished last season among the best in the NCAA.
