Miami's cross country teams took another step forward Saturday at the Commodore Classic, hosted by Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
Miami field hockey came up big this weekend with two much-needed conference wins against Appalachian State University 6-2 and cross-state rival Ohio University 3-0. MU is now 4-4 overall (2-0 Mid-American Conference) after the successful weekend.

Miami men's golf competed in the Wolf Run Intercollegiate tournament in Zionsville, IN Sept. 8-10 and placed second, finishing at +26 as a team. This topped last season's performance when MU came in at +46 for 11th place.

Miami field hockey battled Boston University on Monday September 4, but the Terriers beat the RedHawks 3-1 in a close contest. The game concluded the Miami Invitational which began in Oxford on Friday and welcomed BU as well as the University of Massachusetts-Lowell and Ball State University.
By early June, many RedHawks began to work, travel, or start the Summer Semester. Recent graduate Andrew Dusing kicked off his summer by heading out west. More specifically, out west to the Historic Hayward Field at the University of Oregon.

Miami football (0-0) -- who is coming into the year after a six-game regular season winning-streak -- is seeking a good start to the 2017 campaign as it makes the southern trek to face Marshall University (0-0) on the road.
"We haven't gotten off to a good start at Miami in quite some time -- probably since 2010. And I don't even know how that season started," Martin said.
Several of Miami University's varsity sports teams were hard at work before students began returning to campus. After several weeks of practice and several games played, soccer, volleyball and field hockey look forward to the rest of their seasons.
