Miami hockey salvages split with UMD

Miami hockey settling into their system salvaged a National Collegiate Hockey Conference split against Minnesota-Duluth this weekend. The Bulldogs scored first on Friday and Saturday, but the RedHawks had a bigger second period on Saturday night to win 3-2 after surrendering 3-1 on Friday.

Volleyball wins MAC tournament opener, advances to Championship

Number one seeded Miami volleyball (22-8, 14-3) beat fourth seeded Ohio University (17-15, 10-7) in three straight sets in its Mid-American Conference tournament opener at Millett Hall on Saturday. With the win, the RedHawks advance to the championship game Sunday, against the sixth seeded Western Michigan Broncos.

Miami hockey looks to bounce back against Minnesota Duluth

Miami hockey looks to be consistent against No. 14/15 Minnesota Duluth tonight and tomorrow night, as they host the Bulldogs for only the second time in three years. After losing 4-1 and tying 3-3 to No. 2/4 North Dakota last weekend, the RedHawks look to their process to put them in a position to bounce back in National Collegiate Hockey Conference play.

Miami loses Bowl eligibility on Senior Night

Wednesday night's football game had a plethora of ramifications for the Miami RedHawks -- the final home game of the season was the last chance for seniors such as Tony Reid, Heath Harding and Ryan Smith to play at Yager Stadium to become one game closer to bowl eligibility.

Field hockey makes history in Sweet Sixteen play

The Miami University field hockey team defeated No. 16 Stanford University for their first NCAA tournament win on Wednesday, but fell just short against No. 2 Duke 4-2 on Saturday. While the RedHawks finish the season 12-9, their record doesn't give the team enough credit for their improvement and grit they showed throughout the season.

Keep the Crew in Columbus

It was one of those days in late November in L.A. when the wind was strong enough to want a jacket, but hot enough to make you sweat as soon as the long sleeves went on. But none of that fazed me, because the Columbus Crew had just won their first Major League Soccer Cup in club history. I remember club legend and forever captain, Frankie Hejduk, climbing into the stands to celebrate with the traveling fans, singing "Columbus 'til I Die." This moment in Crew history, and countless others, are being threatened by the current owner, Anthony Precourt of Precourt Sports Ventures (PSV), and his efforts to move the team to Austin, Texas.

Women's basketball opens season this afternoon

The RedHawks look to make a statement this season in conference play under new head coach Megan Duffy. A successful collegiate player for Notre Dame, Duffy helped the Fighting Irish reach four consecutive NCAA Tournaments in her time there. She went on to play in the WNBA, before initiating her coaching career at St. John's, George Washington, and the University of Michigan as an assistant coach.

Disciplined RedHawks look to beat Fighting Hawks

After splitting last weekend's two-game series with National Collegiate Hockey Conference opponent Colorado College, the Miami hockey enters its second weekend of conference play in search of two wins. The RedHawks will need to play a disciplined, puck-management focused game as they compete against No. 2/4 North Dakota tonight and tomorrow in Grand Forks.
