On more than 20 occasions, President Obama asserted he did not have the constitutional authority to circumvent Congress in order to create his own immigration policy.
President Trump on Tuesday formally announced the end of DACA--a program which shielded about 800,000 undocumented immigrants from deportation. Introduced during the Obama administration, the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program allowed young adults who were brought to the U.S. illegally as children to work and study in the U.S. without fear of immediate removal.

The rescheduled version of Miami University's Janus Forum went on Thursday night amid controversy around the speakers selected.
A couple weeks ago, on my way back from the Luxembourg campus, I encountered a group of teenagers in a gazebo adjacent to my house. These teenagers are Luxembourgish degenerates. They worship Machine Gun Kelly, party in parks and none of them are in school nor working. This motley group drew me into conversation; I live in a small town and the sight of another teenager surprised them. They were clearly engaged in nefarious activities; bottles were strewn everywhere and the smell of smoke was in the air. After assuring them that no, I'm not a cop, I'm an American, we started talking. One of the first questions asked by a Luxembourgish miscreant was how I viewed Speaker of the House Paul Ryan's healthcare legislation. This was an introduction to the amazing American political fluency exhibited by many Europeans.

I had a friend in high school that experienced that negative effects of the foster care system firsthand. Her father was an abusive alcoholic, when he was actually around. Her mother was unemployed, addicted to drugs, and would disappear for extended periods of time. At age 11, my friend was the primary caretaker of herself and her three younger siblings. Her family could never make rent payments on time and there was never enough food in the house to feed the mouths of each child.
North Korea is an impoverished nation, having a per capita GDP one 18th that of their neighbors to the south. As Kim Jong-Un's people starve and suffer unacceptable violations of human rights, North Korea invests in its military and its nuclear weapons programs. Kim Jong-Un is desperate to be taken seriously, and is using military buildup to chase this goal.
It seems like, for the first time in his presidency, President Trump has managed to momentarily suppress the left's inordinate criticism of his every move. Not because he is carefully navigating around their political soft-spots--in fact just the opposite--he is confronting them head-on in his trademark Donald Trump fashion. The president has spent his first 88 days making substantial moves according to many of his campaign promises, most recently his commitment to restoring America's supremacy with regard to international politics.
If Rebecca Guan could do it all over again, she wouldn't choose to come to Miami.
Rather than the beaches of Florida or Cancun, I spent my spring break in the legislative offices of Washington, D.C. and Columbus with a group of 55 other Miami students.
As I stood outside the gates and peered through the bars of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., the White House appeared a lot smaller than I expected it would be. For all the hype and hoopla the famous mansion holds in the grandeur of its name and history the actual size of the place was underwhelming.
In a world where political controversy can be found around every corner, people may doubt or entirely dismiss the claim that climate change is not ultimately political.
Miami's College Republicans attended this year's Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) held at the National Harbor in Maryland, continuing an annual tradition for the organization.
Faculty are noticing a shift in the political conversations among their students in this post-election semester.
