First-year arrested for threatening to kill police 

Miami University first-year student Mark Moraski was arrested for threatening to kill police officers, rape their daughters and mothers, and skin their families alive, according to Butler County court records.  Miami University Police Department (MUPD) charged Moraski for retaliation, assault on a police officer, aggravated menacing, underage possession, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct on Nov. 17 at Dennison Hall.

Miami student faces animal abuse charges

A Miami University student is facing animal cruelty charges after an Oxford Police Department (OPD) officer said she found the student’s dog starving and sitting in its own urine.  Sophomore Zichang Li is being charged with cruelty to animals, a second degree misdemeanor. If convicted, she faces 90 days in jail and a $750 fine.

Delts face jail

Eighteen current and former Miami University students and former brothers of the Delta Tau Delta (Delts) fraternity have been charged with a total of 68 counts of misdemeanor assault and hazing. The charges come one month after Miami suspended the fraternity for repeatedly assaulting a new member last spring during a fraternity brother Big/Little Reveal event.
