‘It’s pretty selfish’: Returning students aren’t social distancing, or wearing masks in liquor stores

Inside Oxford Spirits, a throng of students eager to stock up on alcohol wrapped around the liquor store and out the door. Viral videos on social media captured students laughing while clutching six-packs of Corona.  It was Tuesday, March 10, just hours after Miami University President Greg Crawford announced classes would move online for the next month due to the novel coronavirus.

Miami University allowing students to retrieve items left in dorms

Students can now sign up for a scheduled move-out time to retrieve items left in their dorms. The Campus Services Center and the Office of Residence Life made this announcement via email last week that students could return to campus to gather their belongings as early as March 12.

Restaurants set to reopen May 15

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced during his Thursday press briefing that bars and restaurants may begin opening as soon as May 15. The reopening will happen in two phases: outdoor seating and patio usage can begin May 15, and indoor dining can open May 21.

Oxford City Council passes anti-hate speech resolution
