World language courses tackle shift to in-person

Online courses during the pandemic have caused problems for students in all majors. But for students in world language courses where there is a dependence on speech and enunciation during instruction, online learning was not ideal.

Students call for removal of Oxford mayor, city councilor

A group of Miami University students is calling for a recall of Oxford Mayor Mike Smith and City Councilor Jason Bracken after they claim the two “took the opportunity to disparage members of the student population” following last week's vote in favor of a city-wide mask mandate.

Crawford cuts ribbon on new Honors College

The Honors College is a program meant to give extra resources to high-achieving students during their time at Miami. Replacing the Honors Program, the Honors College aims to help students within the program succeed through grant money, enhanced research opportunities and honors-only classes.


Jen Millett, a nurse aide at McCullough-Hyde hospital, protested TriHealth's vaccine mandate for their employees. She believes that people should make the decision to get vaccinated themselves.

McCullough-Hyde employees protest vaccine requirement

Around 10 McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital employees and family members gathered outside the hospital at 4 p.m. on Aug. 25, with signs to protest the COVID-19 vaccine requirement for employees. Today was the second time they protested the requirement. The first was held last week.
