Miami responds to paternity leave lawsuit

Answering a lawsuit filed in December, Miami University broadly denies allegations that the school forced former strength and conditioning coach Paul Harker out of a job after he took federally-protected paternity leave.

Intercultural group improves cultural competency

On Wednesday afternoons, part of the Health Services building turns into a temporary hub for students from all different backgrounds to share foods from their cultures while Fred Shueh makes bubble tea. Some days just a few students come to the meeting, while other days, as many as ten gather to share their stories and hear from others.

ASG fills eight senate seats with special elections

Miami students will see eight new representatives speaking on their behalf in the Miami University Associated Student Government (ASG). The current board elected eight new Senators in a series of special elections in its Tuesday Feb. 13 session in 304 Harrison Hall.

The New Golden Age of Latin Music Lights Up Hall Auditorium

The stage in Hall Auditorium was filled with an assortment of instruments that most of the audience wouldn't have seen before. The vocalists sang in Spanish, so most people listening were not able to understand the lyrics. The eclectic mix of classic Latin music and modern pop was foreign to their ears.

Miami sees record number of Fulbright semifinalists

Ali Preissing was sitting in a quiet library in Italy when she got the news. In the midst of studying for her J-Term exams, the email pinging in her inbox told her that all her hard work was beginning to pay off. She was a semifinalist for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program.

Miami heads 'Into the Ivy'

With nearly 3,000 tickets sold, around 3,500 people will flock to Millett Hall Saturday evening for Miami University's tri-annual Charter Day Ball.
