Answering a lawsuit filed in December, Miami University broadly denies allegations that the school forced former strength and conditioning coach Paul Harker out of a job after he took federally-protected paternity leave.

Intercultural group improves cultural competency

On Wednesday afternoons, part of the Health Services building turns into a temporary hub for students from all different backgrounds to share foods from their cultures while Fred Shueh makes bubble tea. Some days just a few students come to the meeting, while other days, as many as ten gather to share their stories and hear from others.

Miami students will see eight new representatives speaking on their behalf in the Miami University Associated Student Government (ASG). The current board elected eight new Senators in a series of special elections in its Tuesday Feb. 13 session in 304 Harrison Hall.

Ali Preissing was sitting in a quiet library in Italy when she got the news. In the midst of studying for her J-Term exams, the email pinging in her inbox told her that all her hard work was beginning to pay off. She was a semifinalist for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program.

"Wally Night" shines light on past, gives hope for future

A smile constantly spanned the face of Wally Szczerbiak last Friday as the Miami men's basketball legend made a triumphant return to Oxford. Over 3,500 fans -- the second largest crowd of the season -- filed into Millett Hall to celebrate "Wally Night," a tribute to Szczerbiak and the most successful era in the history of MU basketball.

OESCR director Vaughn runs for state rep

Until 2016, Susan Vaughn, Miami's director of the Office of Ethics and Student Conflict Resolution (OESCR), had no aspirations to run for public office. Now, she's seeking election to the Ohio House of Representatives in November 2018, as representative of Ohio's 51st district.

Miami Alumni Connect to grow MU network

Miami University's Alumni Association launched Miami Alumni Connect, an online mentorship program, in January. The new program aims to grow the Miami network through mentoring and other purposeful connections between alumni and current students.
