‘It’s really disappointing’: Miami players, coaches and alumni react to the UC rivalry ending

This season marks the end of a 78-year streak of the annual Battle for the Victory Bell. Each year since 1945 (excluding 2020), the Miami University RedHawks and the University of Cincinnati Bearcats have squared off in a yearly competition to determine the best football team in southwest Ohio.


Volleyball starts season 3-0 after finding success at the Norfolk State Invitational

The Miami University RedHawks volleyball team is flipping the script in 2024. In their first invitational of the year last weekend, the RedHawks went 3-0 against the Lamar University Cardinals, the Gardner-Webb University Runnin’ Bulldogs and the Norfolk State Spartans.

The Miami University RedHawks opened their 2024 football season against the Northwestern University Wildcats of the Big Ten. The RedHawks, coming off an electric 2023 season and returning sixth-year quarterback Brett Gabbert, were hopeful for this matchup. They kept their expectations realistic, but the RedHawks went into this game confident in their performance.

Last year, the Miami University RedHawks emerged victorious over the Kent State University Golden Flashes to capture a sixth consecutive MAC championship. Miami headed into the NCAA tournament with a 14-7 record and aspirations of pushing far into the postseason.

The Miami University RedHawks softball team continued their winning streak in the 2024 Mid-American Conference (MAC) tournament against the Ohio University Bobcats, winning 3-1. Their victory clinched the RedHawks a spot in the championship game tomorrow.
