This semester, Ian Young enrolled in IDS 259, "Introduction to the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma," a course that offers an overview of the people and culture that are the university's namesake and, since the 1970s, have shared close ties with the school.

Saturday morning - most of Oxford is still huddled under their covers, resting after late Friday nights and weeks full of economics exams, long history lectures and dozens of club meetings. Campus is empty except for a few ambitious students trudging with their backpacks to King for the day, or a few pairs of weary feet just now making the trek back home.
Uptown restaurant and deli La Bodega has reopened after about three months of extensive renovations.
In the morning, Kristen Wright comes in to work at Maplestreet Station. She preps the kitchen for the day, turning on all of the equipment to heat up before preparing the fried rice, General Tso's chicken, dumplings and other fare for lunch at Pacific Rim.
Before Jahwar Glass started rapping, he wrote short stories and poems. His mother played rock and soul albums and taught him new words that he collected in his stanzas and paragraphs. At 9, he wrote his first rap.

Tuition for Miami's in-state students will not increase for the 2015-2016 school year due to an anticipated increase in state funding to the university. This decision was confirmed by the Board of Trustees at their meeting on June 26.
Dr. Jana Braziel, a professor of Africana Studies at the University of Cincinnati, has been appointed to join Miami University as Chair of the Department of Global and Intercultural Studies this fall.
