Brrrr-ing on the snow

Whenever I tell people that I went from my home state of Florida up north to Ohio for college, I always get the same reaction: a shocked face and the question “Why?” After all, few people can understand giving up living five minutes from the beach for the grey skies and dreary weather of the Midwest. But my answer is always the same, and it’s super simple, too: “Snow.”

They’re crunchy on the edges but soft toward the center, peppered throughout with semi-sweet chocolate chips that are just the right size. They are delicious straight out of the freezer when I need a cold, sweet treat, but they are equally amazing warmed up and topped with ice cream. 




Love, Ames: On Valentine’s Day, open your heart, not your wallet

Last week, I was chatting with some friends about how I prefer not to celebrate Valentine’s Day. A few of my friends agreed with me that it’s become more about spending money and showing off and less about love, but most of my friends seemed shocked that I wasn’t going to do anything for my significant other on Friday.

Over 200 people gathered in Wilks Theater to participate in the Diversity Affairs Council’s (DAC) second annual Inclusion Forum on Wednesday, Sept. 18. The forum served to create a dialogue between administration and the student body concerning issues about diversity and inclusion at Miami University.
