Last semester, Alexa Bolena, senior vice president of Delta Sigma Pi, was stressfully organizing online recruitment for the future brothers of the business fraternity. She frantically learned everything she possibly could about Zoom, yet experienced a week filled with technical issues, unnatural conversations and fewer students rushing.

Following the passing of Collin’s Law this summer, Ohio colleges and universities are now required to implement hazing education as well as prevent issues that allow hazing to continue. But Miami University has had a self-led Greek course since 2018, and at this time won’t be changing its requirements for Greek-affiliated students.

Due to necessary COVID-19 precautions, Miami closed many facilities for the fall and spring semesters. Among these closures was Café Lux, the European-style café located in Armstrong Student Center. While Café Lux will remain closed the rest of this semester, students can look forward to its reopening and updated menu next fall.
