When Preston Anderson submitted his painting to an online art show, he didn’t expect for it to be shown in a Chicago contemporary art gallery. When he found out his painting would be one of a few hung in the gallery, he was overjoyed.

Talawanda Middle School (TMS) will be closed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week due to increased COVID-19 cases, according to an email sent to parents on Tuesday, Jan. 11. The email, sent by Talawanda Superintendent Edward Theroux, explained almost 30% of TMS’s students were absent Tuesday.

Miami University will require face coverings indoors for all faculty, students and staff on campus regardless of vaccination status, beginning Monday, Aug. 9. Unvaccinated students will be subject to COVID-19 surveillance testing.

Oxford’s Brick Street Bar and Grill announced the bar will now require proof of COVID-19 vaccination, a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours or evidence of a positive COVID antibody test before allowing entry. The announcement came in an Instagram post Thursday, July 29.

Miami University gave eligible students up to $1,500 in federal aid beginning Monday, March 29. Funds came from the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA). Miami was allocated just less than 6.5 million dollars in total.
