Miami University softball had an up and down weekend hosting the Miami Invitational, winning one game but dropping two. The weekend saw the RedHawks (24-16, 11-6 Mid-American Conference) suffer a loss to Louisville in Kentucky on Friday, grab a win against Oakland on Saturday and drop a highly anticipated matchup with No. 1 Oklahoma later that night.

The RedHawks couldn’t get things going this past weekend in Palo Alto, California, winning its first game but losing the next four. After a win over the California Golden Bears (Cal), the RedHawks lost against Villanvova, in a rematch against Cal and twice against Stanford.

The 2022-2023 college basketball regular season has come to a close, and conference tournaments are underway all over the country to determine automatic qualifiers to the NCAA tournament. The Mid-American Conference (MAC) tournament gets underway this Thursday, March 9, and the Miami RedHawks (12-19, 6-12 MAC) look to shock the world and make a run. Miami plays its first game against Toledo (26-6, 15-2 MAC) at 11 a.m. on Thursday. You can watch the game on ESPN+.

Miami University softball continued its winning ways this past weekend in Murray, Kentucky, going a perfect 5-0 at the inaugural Velvet Milkman Invitational. After two blowout wins over Bellarmine, and another against tournament host Murray State, the RedHawks finished the weekend with two strong wins against Loyola Chicago.

Graduate student Allie Cummins homered three times and graduate student pitcher Brianna Pratt threw a no-hitter as the RedHawks (3-2) defeated the Mastodons of Purdue Fort Wayne (0-6) 12-0 at Miami Softball Stadium.

Miami University softball began a new season on Friday, Feb. 10, in Charlotte, North Carolina, splitting the four games they were able to play. After close losses to South Carolina and Charlotte on Friday, the RedHawks rebounded with a close win over East Tennessee State University (ETSU) and a blowout win over Campbell on Saturday. A fifth game scheduled for Sunday against Campbell was canceled due to weather.
