Miami parking permits and citations rake in $1.9 million last school year

Junior track runner Sydney Harmon registered for an accessible pass to drive her injured teammate, parked in designated spots and still received six parking tickets. Her permit didn’t show up in the system, so she contested each ticket hoping she wouldn’t have to pay the hefty fines. 


Free Food Pick List Program relieves financial stress for students

In 2021, the Student Success Center approached Nancy Parkinson and the Miami University nutrition department about starting a food pantry. The Culinary Nutrition Depot Food Pick List, run by Parkinson and nutrition students, offers free meal fundamentals and small kitchen equipment for any enrolled Miami student.



Student-created Oxford trail maps win awards at the 2023 Ohio GIS Conference

The new Oxford Area Trails System maps, created using the pre-existing Miami University Natural Area maps and the City of Oxford’s Oxford Area Trails (OATS), won best in the reference map gallery and best of show map across all categories at the 2023 Ohio Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Conference.
