As you can probably imagine, studying abroad can be exhausting. Navigating the balance between finding moments to rest while also avoiding the feeling that you are “wasting time” while in Europe can be tricky – this was something that I often worried about before going abroad.

Part of the beauty of attending a program like the Miami University Dolibois European Center (MUDEC) is the resources United States universities often have. For MUDEC, these resources are transported over to Europe. In particular, “Discovery Tours” are alumni-funded, fully planned weekend trips that MUDEC’s student activities coordinator arranges.

Miami University Dolibois European Center (MUDEC) students were itching to begin their travels after the first week of classes; you could feel the buzz in the classroom. Unfortunately, travel choices are slightly restricted during the first month of the program, as students must stay in Luxembourg for the first four Fridays for orientation sessions.

As the community gears up for a historic solar eclipse on April 8, the City of Oxford is sponsoring a series of events entitled “Total Eclipse of the Parks” to learn about, celebrate and observe this astronomical feat. The eclipse is said to arrive at 1:53 p.m. and will enter totality at 3:08 p.m. for 2 minutes and 51 seconds.

Miami University’s October issue of The Wrap Up announced eight new faculty and staff grant projects. Selected recipients were given externally funded grants to fund their research and projects. Ohio’s upcoming general election features Issue 2 on the ballot which, if passed, would legalize the recreational use of marijuana for Ohio residents over the age of 21. Currently, the state has legalized the use of medical marijuana, along with synthetic cannabinoids such as Delta-8, which can be found at some of Oxford’s vape shops.
