Miami University’s Associated Student Government (ASG) heard from members of the administration board during its weekly meeting on Oct. 1. admin members discussed the credit-hour cap, increasing mental health awareness, student accessibility resources and Miami’s future in the Mid-American Conference (MAC). Senators also went through voter registration training.

Miami University’s Associated Student Government (ASG) elected Senators Victoria Rivas, Jacob Van Riper, Kadyn Werkhoven, Aiden Bryant and Kiser Young to the Senate Restructuring Committee, which focuses on reorganizing the Senate. The election was uncontested.

Senator Danny Martin ran uncontested and was elected secretary of on-campus affairs at the April 16 Associated Student Government (ASG) meeting. Joining via Zoom, Martin said he wants to follow the example of the current Secretary of On-Campus Affairs Grace Payne. Martin wants to work with Panhellenic more and make the recreation center hours more visible.

Miami University’s Associated Student Government (ASG) passed legislation to update the bylaws for Student Body Vice President (SBVP). The legislation removed the requirement to work between student organizations and the Alumni Office as well as serving on the Alumni Association Board and the Foundation Board.
