Junior forward/midfielder Paula Portugal secured her 100th career point and became the fifth player in Miami history to achieve this feat in Miami's Oct. 20 game against Central Michigan University. Not only did Portugal reach this milestone, but the Miami field hockey team had the chance to make history and finish with an undefeated regular-season conference record -- and they did.

The Miami University field hockey team defeated No. 16 Stanford University for their first NCAA tournament win on Wednesday, but fell just short against No. 2 Duke 4-2 on Saturday. While the RedHawks finish the season 12-9, their record doesn't give the team enough credit for their improvement and grit they showed throughout the season.

Miami field hockey took home the Mid-American Conference Tournament Championship for the third time in Kent this weekend after defeating Appalachian State University 6-1 on Friday and Kent State University in overtime 2-1 on Saturday.

For the first time in program history, Miami University field hockey went undefeated in Mid-American Conference play. They completed its perfect season in conference play with a 7-1 win over allsall State University on Sunday. The RedHawks are the outright MAC champions for only the second time in the team's history, the last time being in 1981.

In commanding fashion, the Miami University field hockey team defeated Central Michigan 4-0 on Friday to clinch the MAC championship and an undefeated conference-play record (5-0). The Chippewas fell to 0-16 on the year while the RedHawks remain .500 (8-8) after falling to No. 3 Virginia on Sunday 4-0.

Miami came up just shy in its attempt to upset No. 2 Duke University in Durham after a valiant effort by the RedHawks' defense Sunday afternoon. They were able to split their road trip with a 4-1 victory over Davidson on Monday evening.

The RedHawks lost their second game of the weekend after falling to No. 11 Wake Forest 4-1. Miami falls to 4-6 overall (2-0 Mid-American Conference) and Wake Forest improves to 5-4.

Miami field hockey came up big this weekend with two much-needed conference wins against Appalachian State University 6-2 and cross-state rival Ohio University 3-0. MU is now 4-4 overall (2-0 Mid-American Conference) after the successful weekend.

Indiana University played host to the Miami field hockey team on Sunday which ended in a second consecutive 3-2 loss for the RedHawks. MU falls to 2-4 overall (0-0 Mid-American Conference) after the weekend, also losing 3-2 to Ohio State University on Friday.
