Review: Down With Webster

Catherine Couretas, Editor in Chief

Wow.

I'm still not sure how to react to Down With Webster's (DWW) Time to Win, Vol. 1.

DWW is on tour with 3OH!3 and Hellogoodbye, so I knew it would be a fun album. I mean, check out a picture of the band (myspace.com/downwithwebster). They look like dudes you would seriously want to rock out with 24 hours a day.

Their music, however, probably only suits a select few. They're different, and I can totally tell why they'd be on tour with 3OH!3. The two bands fit together like a glove. DWW is like Gym Class Heroes mixed with a little bit of Eminem and 3OH!3 plus a side of Forever the Sickest Kids (appearance-wise, at least).

My favorite song on the album has to be "Your Man," but I felt OK about the rest too. I feel like they're a band I'm going to enjoy live a lot more (read: party time!) than I do on their album. It's not that it's an album I can't get into, but it's music I'd rather listen to blasting in a concert hall with a ton of other fans.

So, want to come with? They're playing Sunday, Oct. 31 at the Madison Theater in Covington, Ky. If you're looking for a Sunday night Halloween extravaganza, this is the place to be.
