The founders of Redhawk Global, LLC will be looking for five students at their alma mater, Miami University, during career fair Sept. 24.

Redhawk Global is a logistics company based in Columbus, Ohio started in 2002 by three Miami University alumni, Erach Deboo, Mike Tobin and Travis Rhyan. According to Deboo, the firm is a third-party logistics company that focuses on matching clients shipping needs with different transportation carriers.

In 2008, Redhawk Global was ranked 1,412 on Inc.com's list of the nation's 5,000 fastest-growing private companies. Deboo said that from 2004-07, the company achieved a three-year sales growth of 267 percent.

According to Deboo, the company has achieved its level of success by leveraging technology within the transportation industry by quickly giving customers information.

Bill Froude, associate director of the office of career services, said this would be the first career fair that Redhawk Global would be attending since they are still a relatively new company.

Deboo said Redhawk Global is attending the fair to add more Miami students to their team.

"We are looking for talented people who aren't just looking for a job for a job's sake," Deboo said.

Although Redhawk Global, LLC is one of many companies to attend Miami's career fair this year, students are setting them apart since they are a Miami-based company.

"I heard about that company through the school last year and I am definitely stopping by to see them at career fair this year," said sophomore marketing major Kirstie Kodatsky.

According to Deboo, the company is looking for five candidates, no matter the major, that would be interested in taking on a position at the firm, even if the students do not have experience in the industry.

"We want to find someone who is eager to learn and who is ready for a challenge," Deboo said.

Deboo also said that the company does not focus primarily on grades when choosing a candidate.

"Someone who got Cs in college may outshine someone who got As (in college) in the workplace," Deboo said.

Other characteristics Redhawk Global are looking for in candidates include confidence and the ability to strive in a normal work environment.

Deboo also said Redhawk Gobal is not the conventional corporate office setting.

"All the workers in the office are under the age of 32; we are looking for someone who can get along with their co-workers and easily fit in," said Deboo.

The positions available include starting operations positions where candidates can learn and grow with the company, but are also willing to stay with the company in the long-run.
