First-year male mistakes house  for Uptown bar

Friday 9:54 p.m., the Oxford Police Department (OPD) responded to a report of suspicious activity at 27 Applewood Circle. The caller informed the officer that a male subject wearing a blue and white striped shirt tried to force his way into their residence. Officers located the subject and identified him as first-year Kyle Budnick. Budnick had initially tried to enter the residence because he thought it was a bar, according to OPD. When the officer spoke to Budnick he appeared intoxicated and confused, according to OPD. Budnick was charged with attempting to commit an offense and underage intoxication, according to OPD.

Male tries to urinate on Brick Street Bar

OPD officers were on East High Street Friday 12:30 a.m. when a Brick Street Bar staff member notified the officers of an unwanted subject near the Poplar Street entrance of the bar. The subject, first-year Taylor Jack Day, had been asked to leave several times, and was trying to urinate on the brick wall, according to OPD. Officers detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage from Day. He was taken to OPD where he was charged with sales to and use by underage persons, according to OPD.

Sophomore student takes one for the road

Saturday night at around 11:30 p.m., an OPD officer saw a male subject carrying an open can of Natural Light beer walking in the 200 block of East High Street. A Sophomore Jeffrey J. Nymberg, was brought back to the station where he was cited for underage drinking and open container, according to OPD.
