First-year curses at Oxford police officers
Just after midnight Sunday on the first block of South Poplar Street, Miami University first -year Nicholas Garzona was arrested for yelling obscenities on the sidewalk. Oxford Police Department officers found he was underage and had a fake driver's license in his wallet and an "over 21" wristband. Garzona was charged with offenses involving underage persons and sent to Butler County Jail.
Male refuses to leave The Wood's Saturday
Miami University first-year Michael Martin was arrested around 1:45 a.m. Saturday for trespassing at the front door and refusing to leave The Wood's Bar. He was charged with underage intoxication and for possessing a fake driver's license.
Student tries to run from sobriety test
Before 5 a.m. Saturday morning, Oxford Police Department officers stopped a male driver on East Collins Street for driving without his headlights on. After identifying the driver as Miami University sophomore Christopher Job, the officer suspected Job was intoxicated and conducted a field sobriety test. During the test, Job fled the scene and attempted to resist arrest. After being placed in custody, he was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Drug paraphernalia and an open container of alcohol were also found in his vehicle.
Oxford resident harrases Wal-Mart staff
Around 11:20 a.m. Thursday, an Oxford resident was warned against criminal trespassing after verbally harassing staff at Wal-Mart.
