Symphony Band, Wind Ensemble to perform

The Miami University Symphony Band and Wind Ensemble will join forces for a performance that will be free and open to the public at 8 p.m. Friday, April 30 in Hall Auditorium.

The Wind Ensemble is conducted by Gary A. Speck and will incorporate digital and audio effects. The ensemble will perform Steven Bryant's "Ecstatic Waters." They will also perform Eric Whitacre's "October" and Caroyln Bremmer's "Early Light."

The Symphony Band will also perform several pieces, including "First Suite in E Flat" by Gustav Holst and "Suite Dreams" by Steven Bryant. Stephen Lytle conducts the symphony band.

Business organization seeks new members

Founded in the spring of 1996 as a way to provide an extension to what was taught in the business school at Miami University, Miami Business Consulting is a student-run organization that works with "real world" clients.

Members gain project management experience, business contacts, possible internships, experience with software, team building skills, and the opportunity to partake in social events. Split into teams based off of specialization and skill sets, the firm engages in meetings while collaborating their skills and ideas.

They also either provide the solution for clients or follow them as they use outside sources to complete the solution with guidance and suggestions from the team.
