George Clooney's film The Ides of March will be shooting on campus March 1 to 3.

According to Scott Walter, adviser for Miami's Associated Student Government, the shoot for Thursday, March 3 will require 500 to 600 extras and students are encouraged to participate. Walter stressed that any potential extras wearing Green Beer Day shirts will absolutely not be allowed on set.

Locations and times of filming are not yet known.

Clooney has been seen on campus once since November, when he made his first visit to scout filming locations.

According to the Internet Movie Database (IMDB), The Ides of March centers around a presidential candidate who is introduced to the realm of dirty politics while campaigning. The film is directed by Clooney and will star himself, Ryan Gosling and Marisa Tomei.

The Ides of March is loosely based on the 2004 candidacy of Howard Dean.
