The Associated Student Government (ASG) voted to amend Article IV of their constitution at Tuesday's meeting.
The proposed amendment would decrease the number of members on the Executive Council, which nominates non-voting student members of the Board of Trustees, President of the Student Senate Nick Miller said.
As stated by Article IV of the constitution, the Executive Council now consists of between 35 and 40 people from various student governmental entities at the university, as well as those from Hamilton and Middletown. The amended article, however, would reduce that number to between 15 and 18 members.
In order for the proposed amendment to take effect, a simple majority must be achieved from "the total votes cast in a campus-wide constitutional voting, whether with elections or as a separate referendum," according to Article V of the constitution.
Students can vote to approve this amendment between noon Wednesday, April 16 and 7 p.m. Thursday, April 17th on The Hub.
