A win against the Kent State University Golden Flashes on Feb. 21 solidified Miami’s first 20-win season since 1998-99, when the RedHawks finished 24-8. After the Kent State matchup, the RedHawks defended Millett again with a win over the Northern Illinois University Huskies. Miami hasn’t lost at home since Nov. 9, setting a program record for most consecutive home wins at 14.
The RedHawks took their third loss in five games when they dropped the second Battle of the Bricks 75-66 against the Ohio University Bobcats on March 1. However, Miami clinched the No. 2 seed in the MAC with a road win over the University of Buffalo Bulls on March 4.

While the RedHawks cemented their spot in Cleveland, the Cardinals sit at ninth in the MAC, one win behind the Western Michigan University Broncos and just out of tournament contention.
Ball State dropped its last three matchups by less than 10 points each. The Cardinals fell short 87-82 against the University of Akron Zips on Feb. 25 before falling 61-52 against the Bowling Green State University Falcons on March 1 and 69-67 against the Central Michigan University Chippewas on March 4.
