Miami University athletics released the 2025 football schedule this afternoon.
The RedHawks finished the 2024 season in December with a win at the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl. Miami’s 9-5 record marked its fifth winning season under head coach Chuck Martin.
Next season, the RedHawks will play two road and two home games against non-conference opponents. Notably, Miami will not play against the University of Cincinnati Bearcats, breaking the Battle for the Victory Bell tradition dating back to 1888.
Similar to 2024, the RedHawks open the 2025 season on the road against a Big Ten opponent. Miami visits the University of Wisconsin-Madison Badgers on Aug. 28 for its second time ever. The RedHawks previously lost 58-0 to the Badgers in 2015.
The team stays on the road the following weekend with another matchup against a Big Ten opponent in the Rutgers University Scarlet Knights on Sept. 6.
After a bye week, Miami’s home-opener takes place on Sept. 20 when the RedHawks welcome the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) Runnin’ Rebels to Yager Stadium. Miami rounds out its non-conference slate with another home matchup against the Lindenwood University Lions.
Miami entered Mid-American Conference (MAC) play at 1-3. Following a loss to the University of Toledo Rockets, the RedHawks won seven-straight to earn a bid to the conference championship.
In 2025, the RedHawks begin conference play on the road against the Northern Illinois University Huskies on Oct. 4. They stay on the road the following week against the University of Akron Zips, whom they didn’t play in 2024, on Oct. 11.
Miami returns to Yager for two-straight games against the Eastern Michigan University Eagles (Oct. 18) and the Western Michigan University Broncos (Oct. 25).
Midweek MACtion starts with a Tuesday night game against the Ohio University Bobcats, the reigning MAC champions, on Nov. 4. The RedHawks will play against the University of Toledo Rockets, the only other conference team to defeat them in 2024, at Yager on Nov. 12.
The RedHawks’ final midweek game sees them travel to the University of Buffalo Bulls on Nov. 19. Miami plays at Yager one more time to close out the season against the Ball State University Cardinals on Nov. 29.
Miami’s 2024 regular season saw the team go 7-1 in conference play despite a 1-3 start to the season. The RedHawks will rematch against five of those MAC opponents, but they won’t face the Central Michigan University Chippewas, the Kent State University Golden Flashes or the Bowling Green State University Falcons.

With five months remaining until the season-opener, the RedHawks need to work to fill in the holes left by graduating seniors and get the new players adjusted to Miami.
