Brooke Flinders is leaving her postition as associate provost to become president of Frontier Nursing University.

Miami University is currently conducting a national search to replace Brooke Flinders as associate provost for undergraduate education.

Flinders, who has been with Miami since 2006, left Miami in July to become the president of Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, Kentucky. During her tenure at Miami, she served as associate provost for faculty affairs and a professor of nursing. Flinders began her role as associate provost in October 2023, following her position as chair of the department of nursing and associate dean.

The search, which began on Sept. 4, is being conducted in partnership with Storbeck Search and Associates. Jerome Conley, dean of the University Libraries, leads the search committee. He is joined by Craig Bennett, Gwen Fears, Chanelle White, Liza Skryzhevska, Elizabeth Wardle and Zeb Baker.

According to the Miami staff careers website, the associate provost of undergraduate education is responsible for advancing “key strategic goals related to student success, undergraduate curriculum, and learning and will help articulate new priorities and strategic goals to continuously improve all aspects of Miami.”

Flinders started at Miami as a regional student, earning an associate degree in 1994. In 2003, she completed her bachelor’s degree in nursing before graduating with a masters degree from Frontier Nursing University.

Flinders was not available for comment at the time of this publication.
