A 20-year-old girl was ushered to the hospital after being hit by a black Jeep Wrangler at the intersection of South Main Street and East Spring Street on Tuesday afternoon at approximately 5:00 p.m., according to Butler County dispatchers.

The pedestrian was taken to McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in critical condition where AirCare transported her to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Oxford and Butler County police have closed the intersection for the ongoing investigation, according to the Oxford Police Department.

Bystanders who saw the accident said the woman was unresponsive when being put in the ambulance.

The extent of her injuries is not known at the time.
