The Conrad Formal Gardens, located across from the Miami Inn, have gone a full year without maintenance.
The flowers sprout through clusters of weeds, and dead plants sit alongside the vibrant ones. Bright pink and yellow tulips symbolize signs of life on a campus feeling the chilling effects of pandemic spanning more than a year.
While the gardens would normally be swept this time in spring, there are still leaves left over from the fall.
Even without their typical upkeep, the gardens still attract walkers and hammockers who come to admire their natural beauty.
