Fall 2020 class registration postponed for all Miami students

Miami announced today in a university-wide email that registration for the fall 2020 semester has been pushed back due to disruptions caused by the transition to remote learning and campus closures in light of the spread of novel coronavirus.

Originally scheduled to start on April 8, registration times have been delayed two weeks for all Miami campuses. Registration now begins with early priority on April 23 and ends with first-years on May 7. Students can find their updated time slots on Bannerweb.

University Registrar Amanda Euen wrote in the email that postponing registration will allow students more time to plan their schedule and speak with academic advisors.

“It is important to note that due to the changing situation, course offerings may be revised more significantly than in past semesters,” Euen wrote. “[Students] are strongly encouraged to carefully review up-to-date course listings shortly before it is [their] time to register for fall 2020 classes.”

Students must schedule an appointment with their advisors, as drop-in times can no longer be offered for scheduling questions. If students are unable to make an appointment, they are advised to register for classes during their scheduled time slot, and then later review their schedule with their advisor.

Open registration for all students will be available from May 18 through May 25.
