The Miami University RedHawks are field hockey Mid-American Conference Tournament Champions for the third year in a row.
They beat Kent State, 2-1, in Saturday’s MAC finale at the Miami Field Hockey Complex. After the Golden Flashes scored in the first, Miami made it dramatic, striking for two fourth-quarter goals to claim the victory.
Junior Leonor Berlie, who provided the go-ahead goal, was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
After receiving automatic entry into the NCAA Tournament, the RedHawks head to Stanford tomorrow to take on the Cardinal. The opening-round match is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
