When considering veganism, most people only think about the dietary aspects of the lifestyle. I’ll admit that this is the area I focus on; however, as I’ve been casually exploring online clothing websites to splurge on, I stumbled upon some great websites for those in search of some vegan-friendly holiday gifts. My phone case is in desperate need of replacement, and I’ve fallen in love with the Pela brand! They advertise low impact manufacturing, and their cases are made from plastic-free, plant-based materials. They come in a variety of styles for different phones! If you’ve read a few of my columns, you know I am shamelessly enthusiastic about my plant-based diet, and Wholesome Culture has a ton of cute apparel for fellow vegan enthusiasts who also want to advertise their efforts to save the environment. For those looking for trendier styles, I was impressed by Reformation’s collection of sweaters; however, like most vegan brands, they had a substantial price tag. This website also offers the Patagonia brand– which is perfect for these winter months! Threads 4 Thought offers more affordable, basic apparel. One challenge I was facing was finding less-expensive vegan clothing that was also cute and practical for everyday wear, so I was very excited to find a website that could appeal to a variety of clothing styles. For those looking to revamp their shoe collection, Ahisma has a lot of functional shoe styles- perfect for the professional or casual wear! Finally, Peta recently listed an assortment of beauty brands that are vegan-friendly! Their list includes makeup products, lotions, lip balms and even deodorant! Overall, I was pleasantly surprised to find so many environmentally-friendly products, but I did encounter higher prices compared to typical online stores. I expected this; however, I was hoping to add to my sweater collection, but the prices of vegan sweaters were astronomical.As the holiday season approaches, I can’t wait to splurge for my closet while also helping the environment!
