Tip of the week: Make your own household cleaners! Here's a list of the top ingredients to use for green DIY cleaners.
- Baking Soda Did you know that baking soda can be used to clean kitchen surfaces? A sprinkle of baking soda and a damp sponge should clean most stains. Simply soak hard-to-remove stains for a few minutes before wiping those counters. Baking soda can also make your cabinets or fridge smell fresh! Just store the box right inside. Another great use for baking soda? Oven cleaner!
- LemonsLemons can be used to clean your sink. As a natural antibacterial, you can clean faucets by adding just a little salt. You can also clean dirty laundry stains by scrubbing a lemon against the stain and letting it soak in warm water for a few hours before throwing the clothes in the wash. Have a smelly garbage can? Just peel off that lemon rind and put it beneath the bag: almost-instantly lemon fresh!
- VinegarVinegar is awesome at killing all manners of bacteria and viruses within seconds of contact! Wash your windows by applying two tablespoons of vinegar and wiping with a warm water paper towel or rag. A quarter cup of vinegar and 30oz of warm water can also bring life back to hardwood floors.
