2016 Hike-a-Thon Preview

That’s right folks, this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. is the 10th annual Hike-a-Thon Plus event! If you’re looking for a chance to get outside and enjoy the beautiful fall weather, this is a perfect opportunity.

The Hike-a-Thon, held rain or shine, is a great way to explore the Miami University Natural Areas. They provide maps and encourage people with any level of hiking experience to check out the 1-, 3-, or 5-mile loops that begin in that area. Plus, the event is free and no registration is required! Hikers who hike at least 3 miles are eligible for a free t-shirt, while supplies last.

In addition to the hiking, there are always fun community booths who have snacks, wildlife demonstrations, music, and more, most of which is free. This event is one of the top environmental events in our area, so get out there and have a great time!

Getting there:

The event is held at 4824 Oxford Trenton Rd, Oxford, OH 45056. If you’re coming from campus, turn east onto Rt. 73 between Cook Field and Bachelor Hall. The event will be on your left, about a mile from Cook Field. There will be signage on the day of the event.
