Grass-fed beef movement

By Chloe Knue

We are taught to be critical consumers of the images we see, hear and read about in the media. However, it is becoming increasingly important to be critical consumers of the food that we eat. With the rise of corporate farming practices and GMO food products dating back to former Secretary of Agriculture Earl Butz in the 1970s, it is more important than ever for Americans to be cautious when analyzing the quality and ethicality of farmed products. For ENG/IMS224, our final exam was to complete a video to raise awareness for a cause that we felt passionate about. After viewing the documentary King Corn, I felt inspired to create a short video about the ethical treatment of animals in order to educate the average American consumer.
