Miami University announced the name of its presidential finalist today, concluding a controversial, six-month-long presidential search that was conducted behind closed doors.
The sole finalist, Gregory Crawford, is the current vice president and associate provost at the University of Notre Dame. He is also the former dean of engineering at Brown University.
Originally from Ohio, Crawford received his bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees from Kent State University.
Crawford will be visiting Miami's Oxford and regional campuses next week to hold open forums, where he'll meet with faculty, staff and students. The forum schedule is as follows:
- Faculty forum: 3:30 p.m. Monday, Feb.15, Oxford campus, Armstrong Student Center's Wilks Theater
- Open forum: 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, Hamilton campus, Wilks Conference Center, rooms A & B
- Open forum: 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, Middletown campus, Johnston Hall, Knoll Community Center, room 142
- Open forum: 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, Oxford campus, Armstrong Student Center's Wilks Theater
