What to stream on Netflix this Labor Day weekend

Regardless of your big plans for the long weekend, you'll probably spend Monday as you should: curled up on your couch or bed, television on, celebrating the holiday by refraining from activity, work or even physical movement for that matter. Here are my picks for what you should stream while you relax this wonderfully lazy Labor Day weekend.

Labor Day traditionally marks the end of the summer, so why not use it as a chance to look back nostalgically on your crazy summer antics? Join an amazingly ensemble cast (including Bradley Cooper, Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd and Elizabeth Banks, to name a few) in the Netflix original spin-off show, "Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp," and its source film, "Wet Hot American Summer," to help relive your glory days of summers past. Separately, each captures hilarious days at Camp Firewood, but together they paint a complete satire of not only summer camp and camp movies, but also of reboots themselves. Perfect for a long day of binge watching.

As for a movie to usher in fall, "A Nightmare on Elm Street," (1984) not only allows us to prepare for the Halloween horror season, but it also gives us the opportunity to recognize Wes Craven, a master of the genre, after his passing on Aug 30. "A Nightmare on Elm Street" is one of the modern classic scary movies, featuring a group of teenagers (including a 21-year-old Johnny Depp in his film debut) being terrorized by Freddy Krueger, a murderer that infiltrates their dreams while they sleep. Although it has spawned many less-than-favorable sequels, the original manages to hold up over 30 years after its release.
