Tonight

Sliding Into the Future: an exhibition of deaccessioned slides

4 -5:30 in The Art Building

Visit the first floor of the Art Building to see works created by half a dozen artists incorporating or inspired by carousel projector slides. Curated by Art Librarian Stefanie Hilles and Artist Billy Simms. Free admission and make-and-take artwork.

David Wolske: Typography: Conceptual, Experimental, and Artificial

5:50 in Art 100 in Art Building

A talk by printmaking artist follows the opening. Wolske will discuss the how he is merging traditional and contemporary technologies. Wolske's exhibition is currently showing across the patio in the Hiestand Galleries. The gallery is open until 5 for a reception for the artist.

Uptown Concert Series: Bad Veins

7-8:30 in Uptown Park

Off-campus? Visit Uptown park on High street for a free concert featuring Cincinnati indie band with multi-instrumentalist Benjamin Davis. Presented by Enjoy Oxford and MAP, Buffalo Wild Wings will be providing free boneless wings at the show. From 7-8:30.

UniDiversity Festival

5:30-9 in Uptown Park

As part of the First 50 Days Program at Miami, This year's festival will celebrate National Hispanic-Latino/a Heritage Month with the International Peace Day Parade, a folklore ballet performance, music from Orquesta Kandela, as well as prizes, food, butterflies and much more! Family Performance Series: Alice in Neverland

7-8 at Oxford Community Arts Center | 10 S College Ave

Need Something for the kids? Join Alice, the best detective in Wonderland, who takes the case when Tinkerbell hires her to solve the mystery of Peter Pan's disappearance in this free event presented by The Miami University Performing Arts Series.

Oxford Farmer's Market

9am-12 in Uptown Park

Fall is right around the corner. Head to the Oxford Farmer's market to hit up one of Oxford's 43 vendors before they're gone. This year, the market added 8 produce or natural product providers. The market is located just behind Memorial Park in Uptown Oxford, at the intersections of Main and High street.

A Journey with Hans Gindlesberger

Thursday, September 27, 4:30-5:30

Artist Reception; 5:50-7:05

Be a part of the 2018 FOTOFOCUS Biennial. See and hear Gindlesberger speak about his photographic series 'I'm in the Wrong Film' in a gallery tour of the exhibition. His narrative will lead visitors through some of the precursors to the work, and an introduction to his observations of the social and political position of small town, Middle America. Admission is free.

While that talk isn't until next weekend, a reminder that the artist's show is already on display along with 2 others. The Museum is open Tuesday - Friday : 10am - 5pm and Saturday 12 - 5pm. Admission is free.
