SBP vice presidential candidate drops out of race

Junior Wesley Ingold, who was formerly running as junior Jack Kelner's vice presidential (VP) candidate, has dropped out of the student body president (SBP) election.

Ingold decided not to run, so he could focus on his mental health, Kelner said.

"He just didn't think with the added stress and time requirements of this that he would be able to fulfill the job to the best of his ability," Kelner said.

Kelner notified Speaker of Senate Cole Hankins during the afternoon of Saturday, March 9, and told him Ingold would no longer be running.

Per the student body elections packet, Kelner was given 72 hours to find a new VP. He chose junior and finance major Nikko Dunkas after discussing Kelner's platform together and determining they had similar goals.

Dunkas received enough signatures on his petition and is now on Kelner's ticket.

Kelner is one of five candidates for SBP. Elections will take place from 7 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20 on the Hub.
