Police beat

Miami University sophomore John Dunn was charged with attempt to rape Wednesday relating to an incident that occurred Nov. 6.

A female victim reportedly went to McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital Nov. 9 and told nurses she had been sexually assaulted.

A sexual assault exam kit was reportedly turned in to Oxford Police as evidence.

House adviser reports broken window

At 1 p.m. Wednesday, officers met with the adviser of the Tau Kappa Epsilon house at 112 S. Campus Ave.

The adviser told police he had checked and locked the vacant building Dec. 19.

According to police reports, the adviser returned Monday to find a window on the south side of the building broken.

It appeared the window had been broken before someone reached inside to unlatch it.

There was nothing reported stolen from the house.

There are no suspects at this time.

Head injury results in underage charges

At 2:30 a.m. Thursday, officers were dispatched to assist the life squad on a call regarding a head injury.

According to police reports, Miami University sophomore William Vonderahe, 19, was taken to McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital for treatment.

At the hospital, Vonderahe reportedly told the officer he had been drinking alcohol and the officer smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath.

Vonderahe was cited for underage intoxication.

Unwanted male refuses to leave Brick Street

At 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to an unwanted person call at Brick Street bar.

When police arrived, the manager reportedly told them the male standing next to him refused to leave the bar.

He also reportedly gave police two Ohio driver's licenses he had taken from the male, who was identified as Jonathan Krost, 20.

Krost reportedly had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet. His driver's license stated he was 20 years old.

Krost reportedly told police he wanted the driver's licenses back because one belonged to his brother.

Krost was charged with underage intoxication and possession of a fake I.D.

Manager finds TV missing from laundry room

At 11 a.m. Wednesday, officers met with a Miami Village manager who reported a flat screen television had been taken off the wall in the laundry room at 902 Arrowhead Dr. sometime between Jan. 1 and 13.

There are no suspects at this time.
