The Miami University women's basketball team got a few extra days rest after a matchup with Eastern Michigan University game, originally scheduled for Saturday, was postponed.
Miami (3-18, 0-10 Mid-American Conference) now has to put its head down and prepare for Kent State University.
The RedHawks travel to Kent this Wednesday to battle the Golden Flashes (3-18, 1-9 MAC) after the six-day break.
The break was much welcomed for head coach Cleve Wright.
"We were able to give the players a couple days off," Wright said. "That's been beneficial for our legs."
The 'Hawks are currently on a 10-game losing skid and come into this game after dropping last Wednesday's contest against Northern Illinois University 60-49.
The Red and White have not been able to claw out a win since conference season began.
Freshman guard Kayla Brown led in scoring last Wednesday with a career high 21-points.
"She's getting more aggressive," Wright said. "Learning how to use her length as she goes to the basket."
Despite the career effort they couldn't end the streak, and the losses continue to mount for Miami.
Brown says that even though it is hard, the team is staying positive in spite of the losses.

"Each day we're looking at our past and our mistakes," Brown said. "We know we're going to correct it."
The Golden Flashes come into this game ahead of the RedHawks by only one game in the MAC East, and both teams are in the cellar of the conference.
Kent State is currently on a seven-game losing skid. Its last victory came Jan. 7 against Bowling Green State University, when the Flashes downed the Falcons 55-48 at home.
The Golden Flashes, led by head coach Danielle O'Banion, dropped their game last Saturday 58-44 to the Ohio University Bobcats.
Kent State is led by sophomore guard Larissa Lurken, who averages 10.9 points per game.
Lurken is closely trailed by redshirt sophomore center CiCi Shannon, who averages 9.5 points per game.
This is the first of two regular season matchups between the two teams. They meet again Feb. 28 at Millett Hall in Oxford.
Wright says the team needs to rebound better and get to the free throw line if the RedHawks want to have a chance for their first conference victory.
"I like how we're attacking the basket," Wright said after the NIU loss. But he wants the team to focus on finishing. "We have got to come away with something."
The battle between the RedHawks and Golden Flashes is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip Wednesday at Kent State's Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center.
