At around 10 a.m. Friday, police were called to the scene of an accident involving a pedestrian on Patterson Avenue near Western Drive. According to police reports, a car had pulled into the left turn lane to turn onto Western Drive and yielded to a pedestrian.

As the pedestrian entered the crosswalk, she reportedly passed the car waiting to turn and continued across the street. A car traveling southbound on Patterson Avenue reportedly did not see the pedestrian and struck her.

The pedestrian, later identified as 60-year-old Miami University employee Linda Goff Tatman, reportedly suffered a skull fracture. Oxford Police Department Sgt. Jim Squance said Tatman had been transferred to a hospital in Cincinnati from McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital.

No update on Tatman's condition was available.

The driver of the vehicle, 22-year-old University of Cincinnati student Martin Jarvis Jr., was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian in the crosswalk.
