After achieving a rare win last weekend, Miami hosts its last home game of the season against Akron University this weekend. Twelve senior players will be honored during the game. The RedHawks (2-8, 1-5 Mid-American Conference) snapped an eight-game losing streak last Saturday with a 28-13 win against Eastern Michigan. Head coach Chuck Martin said it was the most complete win MU has had since he arrived at Miami. “We’re starting to believe in ourselves,” Martin said. “Last week we put it all together. And the score was probably closer, 28-13, than the game actually was. We physically handled...Read More

After a 2-1 win against Western Michigan University Friday night, the No. 19 Miami University hockey team completed the series sweep of the conference rival with a 2-1 win Saturday night. Miami entered the weekend on a three-game losing streak. “It’s huge,” senior left winger Alex Gacek said. “It’s very unlikely for us to get a sweep in our league play. All the teams, top to bottom, are really good. Especially to take care of work at home is huge for us and gets some momentum going for North Dakota next weekend.” Senior goaltender Ryan McKay started both nights...Read More
The Miami University football team snapped its eight-game losing streak and claimed its long-awaited second win with a 28-13 victory against Eastern Michigan University Saturday evening. All the guys love it, and it’s just amazing to have the band out there after the game...Read More
In its first home conference game of the season, the No. 19 Miami University hockey team snapped a three-game skid with a 2-1 victory against Western Michigan University Friday night. Senior goaltender Ryan McKay saved 23 of 24 Bronco shots, and 14 of those came in the final 30 minutes of play. “McKay made some huge saves there, especially in the third period,” head coach Rico Blasi said. “It’s tough for a goaltender when he’s not seeing a lot of shots. I think if you ask any goaltender, they probably wanna see more shots and get into a rhythm.”...Read More
Two one-win teams each look for their first conference victory of the season when Miami University football takes on Eastern Michigan University this weekend. EMU (1-8, 0-5 Mid-American Conference) last won Sept. 2 in a 48-29 blowout against University of Wyoming. Miami’s only win is a 26-7 victory against Presbyterian College in Week 1. “Their record doesn’t show what kind of a team they are,” freshman quarterback Billy Bahl said. “They’ve played some pretty good teams, I mean, they played LSU, most of the MAC teams and the same teams we’ve played.” The Eagles gave up 24 points on...Read More
